Myofunctional therapy is a highly specialized service that typically isn't offered in schools. While your child may receive speech therapy at school, myofunctional therapy requires advanced training and techniques that are typically only available in a specialized private practice.
At Rooted Speech and Myo, we not only provide this specialized care, but we also collaborate with medical professionals, such as ENTs, tongue-tie release providers, and orthodontists to address root causes and ensure your child receives comprehensive, whole-body support.
-
Whether you're looking into therapy for yourself or your child, it's never too late to start! For children, early intervention supports the proper development of speech, jaw function, breathing, and posture. For adults, starting now can prevent small issues from becoming bigger challenges, improve comfort, and accelerate progress.
-
Yes. Our evaluations are essential to understand your unique needs and create a personalized plan. Between the evaluation and your first therapy session, we provide home exercises to get started right away.
-
Therapy sessions are one-on-one and highly individualized. Session frequency and duration depend on individual needs. They are typically 1x/week and last 30 minutes.
-
Each person is unique and requires a different timeframe to reach their goals. Our aim is to help you or your child progress through therapy as quickly as possible. The duration of therapy also highly depends on dedication to daily practice at home.
-
Absolutely! We coordinate with other providers when appropriate to ensure your therapy is complementary, not conflicting. Our goal is to support consistent progress and work as a team with your other providers.
-
Consistency is key to making progress in therapy, so we encourage clients to attend all scheduled sessions. If a client cancels, reschedules, or arrives late for three appointments within a 30-day period, we may need to pause or discontinue services to ensure effective care. We also require clients maintain an overall attendance rate of at least 75% to support steady progress.
EVALUATION SESSIONS may be subject to a fee if notice of cancellation is not received at least 48 hours in advance.
ONGOING THERAPY SESSIONS may be subject to a fee if notice of cancellation is not received at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer the spot to another client and keeps your therapy consistent for the best results.
-
Life happens! Simply contact your therapist directly via email or the client portal to reschedule. We'll do our best to find a new time that works for you. Regular attendance is key to progress, so we highly recommend keeping a consistent schedule.
